Trigger Talk Tuesday Recap – Presented by Green Monstah Firearms
In this episode of Trigger Talk Tuesday, host Clint Gage was joined by Richie from Green Monstah Firearms, along with Randy and Lynn from Shadowhawk Defense. The discussion covered a mix of industry news, upcoming events, and insights from the recent SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
The show opened with a lighthearted conversation about the chilly weather and congratulations to a friend who recently became a grandfather. From there, the conversation shifted to political and economic factors affecting the firearm industry. The team discussed potential tariffs and how they could impact accessories like optics and lights, which are often made in China. However, since most firearms are manufactured domestically, the direct impact on gun prices may be minimal. The panel also touched on how government bulk ammunition purchases, such as military restocking, could affect availability and pricing for civilians.
The hosts highlighted some lesser-known facts about firearm manufacturing, including that Kalashnikov USA now operates entirely out of Florida, making all its parts in the U.S. They also emphasized the importance of considering where firearms and their components are made, as tariffs on imported parts could drive up prices.
Shifting gears to firearms training, Randy and Lynn announced upcoming classes at Shadowhawk Defense, including Concealed Carry Level 1 (Feb. 15 & 23), Low Light Shooting (Feb. 16), and Room Clearing/CQB (Feb. 22). They also reminded listeners that the Steel Challenge competition will return on March 22-23. These courses provide essential skills for both beginners and experienced shooters looking to refine their techniques.
Richie then shared highlights from the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, where he discovered new and innovative products for Green Monstah Firearms. Among them is a dry vapor cleaning system, which uses distilled water and advanced technology to clean firearms in minutes—something they plan to offer in-store. Also on the way are new optic mounting plates from C&H Precision, designed to improve stability and durability, as well as custom firearm packages from Shark Coast Tactical. Green Monstah Firearms is also preparing new Glock bundles and other package deals that will be available soon.
The team also discussed high-end race guns, such as those from Infinity and Atlas, which are custom-built to the owner's exact hand measurements. While these elite firearms cost upwards of $15,000, Richie reminded listeners that they can find a well-fitting, high-quality handgun for much less by using Green Monstah’s “try before you buy” program.
Wrapping up, Richie noted that Green Monstah is receiving new inventory weekly from SHOT Show, including optic-ready and light-bearing holsters now available on their website.
