The conversation touched on censorship and shadow banning of firearms-related content on platforms like Facebook. Brian Mumford of PDX Arsenal is generating buzz by alleging shadow banning, sparking a broader discussion on the inconsistency and bias in social media moderation. The panel highlighted how platforms often restrict exposure or ban legitimate businesses, even those with proper licensing and compliance, like Green Monstah Firearms.
The debate also delved into protections, questioning whether platforms that curate and manage content should still enjoy immunity. Panelists emphasized the need for consistent policies and transparency in moderation practices.
A public service announcement warned of scams targeting small businesses and investors. Fraudsters promise guaranteed returns on cryptocurrency investments, gradually extracting larger sums before disappearing. The panel advised caution and reminded listeners: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Green Monstah Firearms recently welcomed a new gunsmith, Drew, who specializes in firearm repairs, restorations, and custom builds. Common requests include reassembling firearms, fixing broken components, and assisting first-time AR builders. Drew is typically available Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with work orders accepted anytime.
Steel Challenge (Nov 23-24): A beginner-friendly shooting competition with smaller crowds due to cooler weather. Ideal for first-timers interested in shooting sports.
Two-Gun Competition (Dec 7-8): Participants are grouped into squads to navigate different stages of target shooting.
Shadow Hawk Defense is offering hands-on training for all skill levels:
Concealed Carry Level 1 & 2 (Nov 23): Comprehensive classes that go beyond PowerPoint presentations, covering holster draws, target transitions, and malfunction handling. Students are encouraged to train with their own firearms.
Room Clearing & CQB (Dec 7-8): A tactical course focusing on maneuvering through buildings and clearing rooms. While not a shooting course, participants practice techniques and finish with live simulations using semiunitions.
The team reflected on their journey, celebrating over a year of Trigger Talk Tuesday with 27 episodes. They expressed gratitude for the community's support and enthusiasm for firearms education and responsible ownership.
