Trigger Talk Tuesday Recap: Fall Firearms, Training, and What’s New at Green Monstah
November 4, 2025 — WEPM / WCST Broadcast in partnership with Green Monstah Firearms & Shadow Hawk Defense
This week’s Trigger Talk Tuesday opened on a light note as host Clint Gage and guests swapped comments about crisp West Virginia mornings, leaf piles, and snow-globe season. That friendly back-and-forth is part of what makes Trigger Talk Tuesday special—it’s equal parts conversation and classroom, giving local shooters and firearm owners a relatable place to learn what’s happening in the industry.
The talk quickly turned serious with a discussion about cross-state firearm laws.
Because Green Monstah Firearms sits close to the Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania borders, the staff constantly navigates varying compliance rules.
They reminded listeners of two key points:
Handguns must be shipped to an FFL in the buyer’s home state.
Long guns can be sold across state lines, but only if they’re legal in the buyer’s state.
To stay ahead of issues, Green Monstah staff call dealers in other states to double-check model legality—sometimes as far away as California or Oregon. It’s extra work, but it prevents headaches and ensures every sale follows both state and federal law.
The crew then unpacked a headline topic—California’s lawsuits against Glock tied to 3D-printed “switches” that turn pistols into full-auto firearms.
Their stance was clear: punish the criminals modifying the guns, not the manufacturer.
They also noted how lawsuits and state restrictions have forced Glock to discontinue production of all double stack models. The new models coming out December 1st, will be the "V" model. The 9mm pistols will not be optics ready. That sparked a side discussion on MOS (Modular Optic System) pistols and the growing shift toward red-dot optics.
For shooters new to optics, the takeaway was encouraging but realistic—expect about 1,000 rounds of practice before a red-dot feels natural. The payoff? Better accuracy and quicker target acquisition once that learning curve is behind you.
Next came retail news—always a crowd favorite.
Green Monstah just landed multiple pallets of 5.56 ammo and is offering them at case pricing. As one guest joked, “You could see Richie grinning from across the store.”
They also reminded listeners that gun safes are in stock and can be professionally delivered, saving customers the trouble of moving several-hundred-pound boxes up the stairs.
November is jam-packed with opportunities to train and grow:
CQB Level 1 & 2 (Nov 9–10) — From handgun fundamentals to small-team movement.
Women’s Self-Defense (Nov 15) — Practical, hands-on techniques for creating space and escaping threats.
Extreme Close-Quarters (Nov 16) — Advanced drills for students who’ve completed prior courses, covering ground recovery and high-pressure scenarios.
Shooting from a Vehicle (Nov 22) — When you can’t just drive away; using the car as cover without damaging it.
Each class emphasizes real-world application—not just theory—and builds progressively on earlier skills.
This month also brings one of the region’s biggest USPSA classifier matches, expected to draw around 150 shooters. Competitors can level up their classifications—from unclassified to C, B, A, or even Grand Master—across multiple stages and days. It’s one of the most exciting weekends of the year for practical-shooting fans.
Rounding out the announcements, Green Monstah Firearms will host a suppressor seminar later this month.
Attendees will get hands-on time with demo units and learn about:
Mounting systems
Caliber selection
Cleaning & maintenance
NFA registration basics
Tickets are $20, and participants receive $40 off any suppressor purchase that day—a deal worth jumping on.
As always, Trigger Talk Tuesday blended education, entertainment, and community. From legal updates and gear news to serious training opportunities, the episode showed how Green Monstah Firearms and Shadow Hawk Defense continue to lead with safety, professionalism, and passion for the shooting sports.
